New Water Task Force

To resolve lawsuit over water rights.

Governor Mary Fallin's office Monday announced the creation of a new Task Force to help resolve ongoing litagation over water rights between the state of Oklahoma, the city of Oklahoma City, and the Chickasaw and Choctaw Tribes. The tribes are suing the state in federal court to stop the sale of water from Sardis Lake in southeast Oklahoma. The Task Force was convened by the court-appointed mediator and includes 19 members.
