Ardmore lawmaker shocked by abuse allegations.
State Senator Frank Simpson of Ardmore has requested an interim study to examine oversight of the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs. He says he was shocked and saddened by recent stories about alleged abuse and negect in the state's Veterans Centers. He says he wants to take a hard look at the ODVA and it's governing body, the War Veterans Commission. He says an interim committee will visit the veterans centers in Oklahoma and interview employees. They will also speak with patients and their families about the care they receive.
