Lower gasoline prices a major factor......

It seems more Oklahomans will be traveling over the 4th of July holiday than last year, according to reports from AAA.

AAA officials say they're expecting a 5-percent increase in the number of Oklahomans driving more than 50 miles from home during next week's mid-summer, Independence Day celebration.

In terms of pure numbers, AAA is predicting more than half a million Oklahomans on the highways as many just might take a few extra days off to make it a long, five-day weekend.

It could turn out to be that gasoline prices hovering around $3.34 a gallon statewide just might be the stimulus for more to travel next week.

AAA also estimates that the biggest day for driving will probably be on Friday, July 6th.
