School starts Wednesday.

Oklahoma City public school students who are on a continuous learning calendar return to class on Wednesday. Because of the extreme heat, school officials told reporters Tuesday that extra precautions will be taken. There will be no outdoor recess when the heat index is above 103 degrees. Water bottles and ice will be kept on school buses. Deputy Superintendent Sandra Park says there are 2,500 classrooms in the district and only 41 do not have functional air conditioning. They hope to make repairs by Wednesday or students will be moved to other classrooms. (Pictured: Chief Operating Officer Jim Burkey speaks to media.)
