Says he is humbled and honored.

Representative Markwayne Mullin was sworn into office Thursday, representing Oklahoma's 2nd Congressional District in the 113th Congress. "I am extremely humbled and honored for the privilege to represent the people of Oklahoma's 2nd District," he said. "I am looking forward to the work ahead and for the opportunity to serve. For too long Congress has put off the tough decisions that are necessary in order to put the United States back on solid financial footing. Instead of being proactive to deal with problems, we see issues ignored until the last possible minute. I ran for this seat because I was fed up with politics getting in the way of problem solving. I intend to be part of the solution. I will remember why the people of Oklahoma's 2nd District sent me to Washington: to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to reduce our runaway deficit spending and control the federal budget. I will also work tirelessly to provide tax relief and do away with harmful regulations that cost jobs."
