Encourages use of electronic fingerprinting.

State Representative Mike Sanders of Kingfisher is filing a bill which would affect the gun permit application process in certain counties.

Sanders said some rural counties still take fingerprints using the old fashioned ink and paper method.

"If there's a county adjacent or next to the county you live in which does it electronically, you could take your information to that county," Sanders told KTOK.

Sanders says allowing gun permit applicants to use the electronic fingerprint method would ultimately be more cost-effective and could cut down on mistakes.
