Biggs: "... rural way of life is under attack ... "
Republican State Representative Scott Biggs of Chickasha is filing a bill which aims for a constitutional amendment to protect the agriculture industry.
Biggs' bill would place a state question on the November 2014 ballot to amend the state Constitution to protect the rights of farmers and ranchers in utilizing modern farming practices.
In a prepared statement, Biggs says the rural way of life is under attack by liberal eco-terrorist groups, and by imbedding the right to use modern farming practices into the state Constitution, the land and the rural way of life might be protected for generations to come.
Biggs says in November, North Dakota voters approved a similar measure.
