Carrier's first updated look in 45 years.

Folks in Tulsa are getting a peek at American Airlines' new corporate logo and paint scheme for its planes.

The updated red-white-and-blue design was unveiled on a Boeing 737 at DFW Airport, last week. The plane's making a stop today at American's maintenance facility in Tulsa.

American says this is the first change in the look of its aircraft fleet since 1968.

The iconic signature A-A Eagle logo on the aircraft tails is replaced by an eagle's head piercing a red and blue stripe toward the nose of the plane.

But maintaining the polished metal look is tricky. Since aircraft manufacturers are turning to carbon composites to build planes, a silver paint is applied to mimic the polished metal.
