Oklahoma and Arkansas will be bound by study results.

State Attorney General Scott Pruitt announced an agreement Wednesday between Oklahoma and Arkansas to study the water quality of the Illinois River. The study will take three years and be funded by Arkansas. It will determine the allowable phosophorous standard for the river. Pruitt says both Oklahoma and Arkansas officials have agreed to be bound by the outcome that could result in a standard stricter than the current requirement.
