Food stamp recipients must work.

House Speaker T.W. Shannon says he wants to help able-bodied people break their addition to government subsidies. The State House on Monday passed his bill to require food stamp recipients ages 18 to 50, who are not disabled or raising a child, to perform at least 20 hours of work activities as a condition of receiving food stamps. He says it's time we encourage the value of personal responsibility.
