Senate resolution sets prayer dates.
In response to the on-going drought, a request for Oklahomans to pray for rain, as read by Secretary of the Senate, Paul Ziriax.
"Whereas 2011 and 2012 were years of record setting drought in the state of Oklahoma, and whereas long-range weather forecasts indicate this drought could continue into 2013, possibly becoming deeper through the summer and fall."
The Senate resolution declares May 1st, June 26th, and September 18th as statewide days of prayer for rain.
It also calls for the wise use and conservation of water.
