Benefit increase will end soon.
Oklahomans who receive food stamp benefits will see a decrease in their benefits beginning November 1. Four years ago, benefits were increased to offset the effects of the recession. Those increased benefits will end October 31. DHS says a family of four will see a decrease of about 36 dollars a month.
DHS says the number of Oklahomans on food stamps set a new record high in August. A total of 628,956 Oklahomans received SNAP benefits in August.
