In a week highlighted by a partial federal government shutdown..complete with federal workers being furloughed and not paid...finally there's some good news for folks needing help from the federally-funded Women, Infants and Children program here in Oklahoma.
State health officials saying now that the WIC program has not yet been impacted by the partial federal government shutdown.
WIC helps to provide food and health support to low income women and children up to the age of 5.
Officials are saying that Oklahoma has nearly 90-thousand on the WIC rolls and they are predicting that there may be enough money to continue for about two weeks.
