Eddie is recovering from Diverticulitis, and lead singer David Lee Roth has sent his guitarist some 'get well' wishes from Japan.

Fan website VHND has posted a photo of Roth and friends, with the message: "Love and support from all of us in Japan. Get well soon. Love, Dave."

Roth has been in Japan for some time doing sword training with a Shungendo monk, Sueyoshi Akeshi. The singer has a lifelong
history of martial arts training, which he says he began at the age of 12.
