It's no secret. I've been a fan of Metallica from the begining (dating myself a bit??)and I still am to this day. So when they released "Through The Never", I was soooo excited to go, my wife Amy on the other hand had no desire to see it so I drug out Allen The Web Dude who is also a fan. So with a band that has literally done it all, could this have been the last stop?? I mean, I really liked the movie more for the concert footage then the story, but again I'm a fan of the band. So that wold make sense. It did make the most money a concert film has to date, so yet another win for the band. So what next??
They have had success also with their Orion Festival, even doing a secret performance on day one (which is why you always go see every band at a festival that you can, you never know what's going to happen with these guys.) So what's next?? Where do you go from here?? Are they done making music?? I mean the last recorded project they released was Death Magnetic in 2008, and like many fans I loved this project. Soooooo, are we getting more music from Metallica??
Well never fear when Lars is near. Lars has been quoted saying that recording new music was always a part of their plan. “We’ll always make another record,” said Ulrich in a recent interview with The National. “We’re certainly not avoiding making another record.” He continued, explaining, “We’ve been fiddling around a little bit when we have a week here, a week there, but we realized the other day that this movie will take up realistically the next four or five months. But I hope we will get to another record when this movie is over.”
Feel better now?? I know as a fan you always worry about how long one of your favorite artists will be arround, so it looks like we can be ready and waiting for a new cd from Metallica. Now the next question....When?? Well you'll just need to keep it here and as soon as I find out, you'll find out, or as always super-fans. You can leave comments and updates that you discover below to keep other fans in the know. Rock on!!
