Robert Downey Jr. was named the Most Valuable Star of 2013 by Vulture. The New York magazine site combined domestic and overseas box office totals, studio value, likeability, Oscars, critics' scores, Twitter mentions and tabloid value when deciding exactly which Hollywood stars would make the list. Leonardo DiCaprio was named "The Star Who Started Smiling Again" and landed the No. 2 spot. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence was dubbed "The Breakthrough BFF" and was in third place. The mag wrote that, "Nobody has navigated instant fame better than her." The top five also included Sandra Bullock, who has seen her star power rise after taking a few years off from the limelight, and "Golden Boy" Brad Pitt.
